Zimbabwe Equestrian Federation will be hosting the Profeeds Arlington international Horse Trial from 11 -13 April. Previously known as the Arlington International Event, Zimbabwe Equestrian decided to rename the event as Profeeds Arlington International Horse trial after Profeeds come on board as the title sponsor for the event.
Profeeds Arlington International horse trial is a three day equestrian event competition testing the overall abilities of horses and riders in a competition that involves dressage, cross-country and show jumping.
A number of International teams namely Zambia and South Africa have already announced their teams thus confirming their intention to challenge Zimbabwe in the FEI CIC 1 and 2 events including 80cm African Shield.
Zimbabwean Celeste Wright a previous champion of the event will be a challenger in this year edition of the International event. Wright is almost 64 and doubles as a show jumper and eventet instructor.
Brianagh “Breeze” Clark 18 who had a very successful year in 2018 after she qualified for the 2018 World Challenge Cup,secured a spot at the Youth Olympics Games won a BRONZE medal riding for team Africa.
A number of sponsors have come on board and really want to see this event successful. Apart from Profeeds Husqvarna and PHI Commodities have come on board as other events partners for the Profeeds Arlington International Horse Trials.
First day of the events starts at Borrowdale Country Club with the dressage competition. This is meant to test the horse obedience and riders ability. Day 2 venue is Umwinsidale for the most difficult competition that cross country testing, speed,endurance, and jumping ability.
The event will end on 14 April which is Day 3 this day is devoted to show jumping competition and the horse will hurdle 10-12 obstacles. And after mark of all the three events will be put together and winners announced.
