After a disappointing performance by the Zimbabwe senior men’s basketball team earlier this year in FIBA AfroBasket 2021 qualifiers, Zimbabwe has been given a second chance to try and qualify for the 2021 AfroBasket.

FIBA Africa have announced that South Sudan, Cape Verde, Chad and Zimbabwe basketball teams will participate in the FIBA 2021 AfroBasket pre- qualifiers.

Cameroon will host the pre-qualifiers from the 23rd to the 25th of October 2020 and winners will qualify for the 2021 AfroBasket qualifiers joining Group E which  already has Morocco, Egypt and Uganda.

Only the top 3 teams in each group will qualify for the 30th edition of the AfroBasket tournament which will be hosted by Rwanda in 2021 from the 24th of August to the 5th of September.
