Super League of Malawi suspends matches for three weeks. Due to the high rate of positive covid-19 cases recorded in the country.
The decision was reached following consultations between Football Association of Malawi and Super League of Malawi. This the aim of supporting the public health covid-19 preventive measures as prescribe by the country Minister of Health and World Health Organization.
Just this week the president of Super League of Malawi president Tiya Banda tested positive for covid-19. The president of Football Association of Malawi also supported the decision to suspend the games. Highlighting that it is his duty to ensure that all stakeholders, footballers and administrators aren’t exposed to covid-19.
The three weeks suspension should not demoralize our spirit but rather galvanize us to take extra care to protect ours precious lives from this scourge. Be assured that sooner than later, we will return to the pitch and enjoy watching and playing football he continued.
