Inspired by the 1980 Zimbabwean Hockey Golden Girls team that won a GOLD at the Moscow Olympic Games, Zambia Hockey Association is set to host its first-ever Golden Girls Hockey Festival.
The tournament will be hosted at the Olympic Youth Development Centre on the 8th of March and will feature close to five ladies’ teams. Initially, the tournament was meant to select the team that would represent the country at the Africa Cup qualifiers that have now been canceled.
In Zimbabwe, the Golden Girls Hockey tournament is the biggest in the country and features high school hockey teams.
