Patience Chinhoyi aged 38 has been named the Zimbabwe Ladies MVP of the decade.

At 13 years old she received her first national team call-up before breaking into the senior team two years later. She featured for Zimbabwe in several competitions namely Zone VI and the All African Games now known as the African games.

Chinhoyi has won several league titles for her basketball club Harare City Hornets. Apart from playing basketball Chinhoyi also plays netball and volleyball for Correctional Queens and helped Correctional Queen’s netball team lift the Rainbow Amateur Netball League in 2018.

Meanwhile, Fadzai Mabasa was voted as the Basketball Union of Zimbabwe people’s choice best player of the decade. The awards were hosted by the Basketball Union of Zimbabwe and a special panel that included basketball coaches selected the players.
