Above their passion for sports a number of Zimbabwean student athletes earned sports scholarship. This helping them diversify their portfolio.

Andie Kuipers- Triathlon

Young Andie Kuipers represented Zimbabwe at various competition. Which includes African Games in Morocco, where she won a bronze meet, as well as at the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Kuipers joined Lenoir Rhyne University in South Carolina, USA on a sports scholarship this year. Joining the university first ever triathlon team.

Alois Chipfurutse- chess 

Chipfurutse who represented Zimbabwe in the 2018 Zimbabwe Chess Open and scored a 5.5/8 points finishing the tournament on position 18.

Alois was offered a full scholarship by William Marsh University and will be studying towards a Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.

Sam Harvey- angling

One of fishing league Zimbabwe angler Sam Harvey gained a scholarship at Auburn University.

Sam also got a chance to complete with several top fishing schools in the USA for four years.

Melissa Mwanza- basketball

Putnum University recruited  16 year old Zimbabwean basketball player Melissa Mwanza. The former Girls High basketball player is now part of PSA Mustangs Basketball roaster.

Mustangs ply their trade in the National Preps Championship.

Beata Diana  Chako-  football

Young Mighty Warriors striker Beata Diana Chako gained a scholarship at Brewton Parker University. The former Glen View High 1 student scored 12 points at “A” level and will be studying towards a Degree in criminal law.

Vernon Matongo- rugby

Vernon Matongo who has played for Zimbabwe U-13, Sharks U-16 and U-18 earner a sports scholarship. Big V will be studying towards a Bachelor Of Accounting Science Degree at Stellenbosch University.

Rory and Patrick Plunkett- rowing

Zimbabwean rowing twins Rory and Patrick Plunkett were accepted by Harvard University. Patrick is majoring in Economics whilst Roy is pursing a Political Science and governance.
