After conferences the International Tennis Federation COVID-19 Engagement Group, Tennis South Africa has rescheduled the ITF World Tennis Tour which had been scheduled to take place in Potchefstroom from the 6th to the 13th of December.

The decision to reschedule the tournament follows an increase in restrictions impacting travel to and from South Africa, which will prevent the majority of international players from taking part.

“We had to decide to reschedule the event for two reasons,” said Tennis South Africa CEO Richard Glover.

The safety and well-being of our participating players, coaches, support staff, and match officials is the foremost priority. We also recognize that with the heavy travel restrictions in place, many international participants will not be able to travel to South Africa.

The combined men’s and women’s ITF World Tennis event was originally planned for the weeks commencing the 6th and 13th of December, respectively. The tournament will now be held in 2022.
