Zimbabwe will open its campaign against Ireland on the first day of the FIH Junior women’s hockey World Cup on the 5th of December in Potchefstroom.

Zimbabwe has been placed in Pool A alongside 2016 runners up the Netherlands, South Korea, and Ireland. More like a repeat of the 2016 edition of the tournament when they were placed against the Netherlands, South Korea, and the United States.

Besides the Zimbabwe-Ireland game, the other matches of the opening day are Germany- USA, South Africa vs Spain, Canada-Uruguay, Belgium- England, and South Korea vs the Netherlands.

The polls for the showpiece were announced by the International Hockey Federation on Wednesday.

After Ireland, Zimbabwe will take on South Korea on the 6th and later the Netherlands on the 8th. The semi-finals and final will be played on the 14th and 16th respectively.

Ireland replaced New Zealand who pulled out of the tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Junior Army will be featuring in the Junior World Cup for the first time.
