Zimbabwe senior women’s national cricket team captain Mary-Anne Musonda has been shortlisted as one of the nominees for the ICC Player of the month award.
Musonda’s nomination came after her impressive performance last month when Zimbabwe played their maiden ODI. She smashed a maiden unbeaten century on her debut, becoming the first Zimbabwean female player to score an ODI century,
Irish players Laura Delany and Gaby Lewis are the other two players who have been nominated for the award. The Irish captain Laura Delany became the longest-serving captain of Ireland last month. She played four ODI and scored a total of 189 runs. Whilst 20-year-old Gaby Lewis was the leading run-scorer for Ireland when they played Zimbabwe last month.
The three nominees are shortlisted based on per from the 1st to the last day of the month. An independent ICC voting Academy and fans around the world will then vote.
