Women’s regional league and national women’s football teams in Malawi will no longer have to worry about the cost of insurance, claims, injuries, or other liabilities after the Football Association of Malawi sealed a 10-year partnership with a Medical Aid Society of Malawi.

The partnership is worth K18 million a year and will cover at least 800 players from the women’s regional league, national team’s and also Super League clubs. Football Association of Malawi has already paid the premiums on behalf of clubs.

Each player will be covered up to a maximum of K1.4 million per year.

The signing of the partnership should give our football players total assurance that from today, they can now fully commit themselves on the pitch, knowing that their health is fully covered- said the President of Football Association of Malawi Walter Nyamilandu.
