The Zimbabwe senior netball team registered their second defeat at the ongoing Debmarine Netball Pent Series in Namibia today.

It was the team’s third match of the tournament. Their first defeat was against Malawi on Monday. Before they quickly bounced off from the defeat as they went on to beat Kenya 56-46.

The weather conditions in Namibia was unfavorable to the Gems as they struggled under the scorching heat.

The Lloyd Makunde coached side only scored 8 points in the first quarter, whilst Uganda put up 22 points. Zimbabwe utilized their turnovers in the second quarter as they scored 12 points compared to Uganda 11 points.

Zimbabwe’s defense was in sixes and sevens as Uganda scored 42 points to lead the game 61-29. The She Cranes continued the dominance in the last quarter to win the game 79-40.

Zambia recorded their first victory in the tournament, defeating Kenya 50-42 whilst Namibia suffered their first defeat to Malawi 64-43.

The game between Zambia and Malawi will kick-start tomorrow games followed by Uganda vs Kenya and then Zimbabwe vs Namibia.
